Potassium Carbonate Prices Rise 3.4% Globally in Q2 2026 on Feedstock Pressure

Potassium carbonate prices continued their upward trajectory in Q2 2026, with the global average rising from USD 1,062.00/MT in Q1 to USD 1,098.50/MT in Q2, a gain of 3.4%. Germany remained the highest-cost reporting region at USD 1,260.00/MT, up 3.3% quarter-over-quarter, driven by elevated potassium hydroxide feedstock and energy costs. The United States averaged USD 1,190.00/MT, while China stayed the most affordable at USD 860.00/MT on substantial domestic capacity. For H2 2026, a global average of USD 1,040.00–1,180.00/MT is expected, with firm demand from glass, ceramics, and food processing keeping the market on an established upward path. Buyers should anticipate continued cost pressure tied to the underlying caustic potash market.
