Product Overview

Potassium carbonate is an inorganic compound with the chemical formula K2CO3 and molecular weight of 138.206. It appears as a white crystalline powder with a density of 2.428g/cm³ and melting point of 891°C. This compound is easily soluble in water, forming an alkaline solution, but insoluble in ethanol, acetone, and ether.

Potassium carbonate exhibits strong hygroscopic properties. When exposed to air, it absorbs carbon dioxide and water, converting to potassium bicarbonate. Proper packaging must be sealed to maintain product integrity.
